Environmental degradation is one of the serious and glaring problems that our society is facing today. Be it the threat of air or water pollution, increasing sea water levels, constant reduction in the forest cover or the solid and bio-waste issue, saving our mother nature is one of the major challenges confronting mankind today.
Like they say little drops make an ocean, we feel every small step you take is a step towards a bigger change. With this initiative, GEC’s aim is to recognize, reinforce & reward good environmental-friendly practices in Gujarat.
Project brief:
GEPG, a state-level initiative was conducted by Gujarat Ecology Commission (GEC), Government of Gujarat in association with World Around You (WAY). The purpose of the survey was to recognize, document and publish practices, which have created a positive impact on the standard or quality of environment in Gujarat. World Around You (WAY) has been appointed as the official Environment Communication Partner & process advisors to GEC for this study. WAY undertook following tasks: FORMULATING, SCOUTING, EVALUATION, DOCUMENTATION, COMPILING, DESIGNING
In first year of the study WAY received 130+ entries from almost all districts of Gujarat. A high power jury shortlisted 20 best entries of which 18 best case studies were finalized after ground-truthing. Based on this study WAY developed & designed a book “TOWARDS GREEN GUJARAT” showcasing 18 best case studies.
